Best Library User Award

To promote maximum and proper utilization of library facilities and services, the Library gives away “Best Library User Award” to the students every year who make the maximum use of the library resources and facilities. Two students are selected for the Best Library user award on the basis of the following evaluative criteria; selected students were awarded with certificate and cash prize on college annual day on 12th March 2022.

Following criterion will be considered for the “Best Library User Award”

  • Regular use of books, like issue/return of books.
  • Reading aptitude of the student.
  • Utilization of library resources.
  • Observation of library norms and discipline.

 Book Review Competition

Chandrabhan Sharma College, (Khwaish 2021 Intercollegiate Fest) & Library and Information Centre organized Intercollegiate Book Review Competition for Undergraduate Students. 

The competition was conducted to inculcate the reading habit among student and to enhance the thinking, analyzing and summarizing capacities of Students. The books for the Review Competition were general books i.e., fiction, non-fiction, biography, autobiography etc. (not specifically related to any subject). This competition was organized on 23rd December, 2021 from 11.00 pm onwards in College Library. Students from different colleges participated in this event.All of them were awarded with e-certificates and winners were awarded with winner’s certificate and medals at the end of the competition.

The First winner Ansari Almas (FYBCOM) K. J. Somaiya College of Scince and Commerce who reviewed the book ‘Man's Search for Meaning’ by Viktor E Frankl. She received e-certificate and Gold Medal. The Second winner was Rajesh Arjun (TYBMS) Chandrabhan Sharma College, who reviewed the book ‘Think Like a Monk’ by Jay Shetty. He received e-certificate and Silver Medal.





BookMark Competition

Chandrabhan Sharma College, (Khwaish 2021 Intercollegiate Fest) & Library and Information Centre organized Intercollegiate BookMark Competition for Undergraduate Students. The competition was conducted to promote reading habit among students. The students used handmade paper, paints, glitter, adhesive etc. and made the creative eye-catching bookmarks. It was indeed not only learning but also a fun-filled activity. This fun-filled activity unleashed their creativity on paper with a message to learn and follow. The students worked enthusiastically and experimented with different shades of colors to flaunt their artistic imagination. Total 07 students participated in this competition. All of them were awarded with e-certificates and winners were awarded with winner’s certificate and medals at the end of the competition.

The First winner was Neha Patel (SYBA) K. J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce. Received certificate and Gold MedalThe Second winner Abhishek Gupta (SYBMS) Sinhgad College of Commerce. Received certificate and Silver Medal.

 Library Orientation Programme

Library Orientation was organized for First Year Students in the library itself to make them awareness about the information resources and facilities available and to make them understand how to access needed information effectively and efficiently. This orientation program was conducted from 17th November to 20th November, 2021 for different classes according to their roll no, date and timing all this details was shared with students in the form of notice circulated in their classrooms during lectures and around 300 students attended this orientation programme. All the students must take benefit of this facility and you can access N-LIST database from anywhere, 24/7 using your login id and password.

Those who have not generated their Login Id are requested to contact librarian through whatsapp (9664284770), e-mail id & Mobile No. is compulsory for generation of User id to access N-List database.

Online Essay Writing Competition

Chandrabhan Sharma College, Library and Information Centre organized an online essay writing competition on 15th August, 2021 as part of 75th Independence Day of India.This competition was organized to help the students develop writing and analytical skills, expose themselves to diverse information and gain insight to translate their thoughts and ideas with precision and clarity. 

Students were asked to write essays on the above given topics and have to upload in pdf form only, Total 25 students participated and an E-certificate was issued to all the participants who participated in this competition and a winner’s certificate was awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd Winners. The students wrote wonderful essays and shared their knowledge on the given topics.

The winners were – 1. First Prize – Chandan Suhas Shinde, 2. Second Prize – Munshi Zulfa Mahek, 3. Third Prize – Sangeeta Panigrahi & Shivani Chitnis

The event was judged by Prof. Vandan Ravikumar and Prof. Prajakta Mahajan and with help of all the participants the event became successful.

One Day Webinar on N-List: E-resources User Awareness Programme

Chandrabhan Sharma College, IQAC Cell & Library and Information Centre organized One Day Webinar on N-List: E-resources User Awareness Programme to all the students through GoogleMeet Platform on 12th August, 2021 (Thursday) from 12.30pm to 01.30pm. This programme was conducted by Mr. Sunil Ubale, LibrarianChandrabhan Sharma College and Mr. Snehal Sambhar Asst. Librarian, Chandrabhan Sharma College, Powai, Mumbai.

The session started by giving tribute to Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (Father of Library Science in India) on his birth anniversary and gave glimpses of his role and contribution towards developing library education and library profession in India.Started with introduction of what is N-List, its functions and features, showed N-List web-page how its look like, and the top 10 college users flashing on N-list web-page. Users were taught how to register and how to login, discussed with them how to access this database and e-resources i.e, e-books and e-journals available in this database.
